About 5 Years ago I damaged both my knees along with a serious head injury and I was no longer able to snowboard "this didn't happen on a snowboard". After years of physical therapy I was cleared to finally head back to the mountain and continue my love of snowboarding.... problem being my knees where healed but I came out of remission that season and needed to seek treatment for a strain of leukemia that attacked my heart, lungs, and brain. I was deamed back in remission and Cancer FREE as of January of this year.... "cleared with a clean bill of health!!!" ... at that point the first thing I did was go snowboarding.... Being off a board for so long I quickly realized I needed help.... I attended a BitchBoards Camp in Durango CO on Purgatory Resort and with the help of the Sheride instructors I remembered how much I love to be on a board.... for the first time in so many years I felt alive.... I almost forgot how much I love a good adrenalin rush!!! On the last day I was so happy because everything was clicking back into place.... my confidence was back and I hit a jump "Successfully landed it!!!!". At the end of the day I was devastated that I had to head back to the East coast and resume life.... I decided to throw caution to the wind and follow my heart.... I have just found a great program in Steamboat CO "Steamboat Springs Winter Sports CLub" and I plan to train with them for the next season and into the following season. I want to train for freestyle. I can't wait to hit the mountain and meet people who have the same passion as me. I hope to be competing by the end of next season...!!! So keep a look out!!!!
